Jack's First Birthday

Wow, really? A year?? If you say so...

We spent the day of Jack's birthday (May 9) at the first Tripoli Minnesota rocket launch for the year. The rocket launch makes for a long & exhausting day (but fun), so we decided to celebrate the next day (Mother's Day). We started off the day at the Minneapolis Farmer's Market for our traditional Mexican mocha & breakfast brat. I also bought a killer hanging basket. The rest of the day was spent on who-knows-what (time flies when kid-wrangling). At suppertime we had a "just us" birthday party with a fruit-themed dinner (Jack's favorite food): blueberry pancakes (for the kids), fresh berries, and a pineapple upside down cake for the birthday boy. He enjoyed the food, but didn't really eat much cake. The whipped cream was a hit, though.

Jack's Stats:

Weight: 26. 7 lb.
Height: 31"
8 teeth
Favorite food: strawberries, bananas, goldfish, cheese, peas and corn, cauliflower
Activities: Crawling, crawling, crawling, playing on the deck outside, getting wet in the toy water park, eating tree flowers and sticks (Maple tree flowers are his favorite), splashing and spilling the dog water all over the wood floor in the house, playing in Evan's room with big brother (well, parallel play anyway), following mommy everywhere.
Favorite DVD: Not much right now, but is starting to get interested in Signing Time.
Favorite music: Daddy's bedtime songs, Kindermusik in the car
